Phase1B Wapiti Circle: A Monumental Project By Bart Walter
Phase1B

Phase One: Questions and Concepts
Bart Walter’s Wapiti Circle began like many of his works do, as an idea, a concept that would answer a question. In this case, the question was “Can we create an iconographic centerpiece for our project that will captivate the audience and could it depict a subject that's relevant to the audience?”
To answer the client’s question Bart begins a process of research and exploration of several visual concepts and ideas. Often this initial process begins on paper and then Bart transforms his most interesting and exciting idea into a small maquette or working scale model.
The picture above is of the initial site model for Wapiti Circle. You can see the scale of this model on the next page.
